Thoughts from a Kittn

And the saga of my life continues….

Ever have one of those feeling that life is ready to swallow you up? That feeling of being completely overwhelmed? So many things are going on simultaneously in different areas of my life, my head is spinning. I almost feel like I can’t keep up.

About 3 weeks ago, I went for my follow-up pap.  They said that if something came back and I needed more tests, they would call in about a week.  If everything was good for now, I’d get a post card about 2 weeks after the test.  Well, it’s been 3 weeks and I’ve heard nothing - I think it’s time to call.

About 2 weeks ago, we adopted a kitten.  She’s now about 5 months old. Her name is Daisy - Todd suggested it.  DaisyShe’s a sweetheart.  I need to get her into the vet to get her distemper booster -  but otherwise she’s fine. I had been waiting for the vet’s office to contact me about an appointment. They didn’t call till Friday March 23 - I just happend to be a little busy.

Thursday last week - March 22, at about 6:30 AM I got a call from my Mom. I always hate these calls.  My Grandma had collapsed at about 2 AM.  She wasn’t doing well, was on a ventilator.  Well, then I got another call at about 9:30 - they were removing the ventilator.  The only way to keep Granny alive was leave her on the ventilator or do a trach and feeding tube - she would basically never leave the hospital and never be off machines. The family decided to let her go peacefully. She wasn’t expected to make it through the day.  Granny died at about 2 PM Friday March 23 -exactly 10 years and 11 months after Papa, her husband.  They are now back together again. Her funeral was Wednesday March 28.  We found out on Monday that my dad’s cousin lost his wife the same day to lung cancer. Her funeral was Wednesday too. I love 3 grandparents in about 2 and a half years.  Granny was the last left for Todd and myself.  It still feels strange.

Then the State’s Attorney’s office called Tuesday. I forgot there was a status hearing on Monday.  No real change in the case.  His new attorney’s said they need more time to review all the materials - so much for their comment about being ready in May. The next status hearing is set for May 3.  They say they may not be ready for trial until August.  This is the latest news story about the case: http://www.week.com/Story.aspx?preview=&type=ln&NStoryID=57450.

We helped my mother-in-law move on Saturday.  Everytime we help someone move, I remember why I vow to hire movers for all future moves!

And an update on my niece Addison - she’s doing great! The surgery was a total success. She’s growing like a weed and is starting to cut her first tooth!  The little darling will be 4 months old on Friday.

  1. Well I’m proud of you for finally updating your blog. I’m sorry it had to be under such bad times though, but sometimes this is the best way to just release those negative feelings from your being.

At any rate you are a special woman and Todd is lucky to have you. Keep being brave and spreading word of your story because you control your own power and hopefully you will help others…

    Your friend
